So got recorded by this website and HATE the sound of my own voice. Ha, also they totally misread the poem and assumed it has to do with some lover, Not Likely! Who I wrote it for you can probably guess but anyway that's not important. There are also errors Ack, cause they must have used the wrong file I sent them like a thousand drafts. But am not going to kick up a fuss about it.

That's great work Jane. It's a beautiful expression of feeling that never becomes sentimental - not easy in this territory.
My favourite part is this:
And who in the world,
could have known,
when closed,
what strange language,
those words made,
folded over and over.
The image of reading someone, or not reading them enough, works well. It's tender but detached at the same time.
I like the site too. It was interesting to listen to some of the African slam poets. Your voice sounds good and complements the feeling of the words well, which I guess makes sense.
Thanks for posting. It's good to see (and hear) your work. You have a distinctive voice - natural but restrained. I want to read more!
I liked the other poem as well. I found it quite sad. It really captures the loneliness of, I don't know, loving somewhere you don't belong? Maybe that's me putting my own stuff into it, but the scene is evocative nonetheless.
Thanks again,
Tom

Thanks Tom, appreciate the comments, I did for some reason choose my saddest stuff, it was so hard to decide what to do, do have a look at Deborah Seddon's poetry while you are on the site, she's a friend of mine and I love her work.
