Re: Theme March
Well done with the spamming. Sometimes you don't know what you like until you taste it.
As for the theme: how about 'The past in the present'? (I'm in the middle of teaching ancient history again so I can't think of much else). I.e. how does the past still affect us now?; where do we see the remnants of the old ways?; the legacies of passed times; atavistic echoes, etc. etc.

That is a good one! We are doing Toni Morrison's Beloved at the moment, a novel about the trauma of slavery and national amnesia. Read it if you want to be miserable for the rest of your life. So yes! I Like it a lot.

Re: Theme March
Again REALLY REALLY sorry about being out of touch - here is something I wrote, more on a spur of the moment thing but I think that it fits - once again its a bit abstract so not sure if it just sounds like alphabet soup
Although I cannot see
the past
I can access the distance
The Expanse
between those I was
and the they I have become.
Day of comfort
console me,
sweet,
for I cannot find my kite
and the colour of my child
is past the street,
dreaming,
Or cast down the garden,
deeping.
No picture can depict
what a strange sister
she has been
- or where it is -
she hasn’t been.
Prisoner of the cup
come unto us
speak to our listening ears
Smoke out our heart.
What song can still enamour
the truth of the gut.
I am a patchwork guilt of separate strings
A cavern
A plain of steps of separate days,
without a start, a voice,
Born to be
torn out anew.
Hard luck,
To have so much faith,
And so much muck.
